What is Ceili Dancing? Ceili dancing is a traditional form of Irish folk dancing that is both social and energetic. Typically performed in groups, it involves a variety of set dances, reels, jigs, and hornpipes. Each dance is called by a knowledgeable caller, who guides the dancers through the steps and patterns, ensuring everyone, from beginners to seasoned dancers, can join in the fun.

How It's Done: During a ceili, the caller—today's being the talented Paul, Alex, and Justin—will announce and explain each dance. Dancers form sets, often arranged in circles, lines, or squares, and follow the caller's instructions to execute the steps. The emphasis is on enjoyment, social interaction, and the communal spirit of the dance, making it accessible and enjoyable for all ages and skill levels.

Music by Twin Cities Ceili Band: The Twin Cities Ceili Band, known for their vibrant and authentic Irish music, will provide the soundtrack for the evening. With a repertoire that includes traditional Irish tunes played on fiddles, flutes, accordions, and more, their lively music will keep your feet moving and your spirits high. The band's dedication to preserving and promoting Irish music adds an extra layer of authenticity to the event.
